Kitten Survives a Full Cycle in a Washing Machine

Cats are said to have nine lives. Perhaps that's the reason why a four-month old Persian kitten is still alive and well after a watery adventure in a washing machine.
Brendon Rogers and his father Lyndsay were in for a big surprise when they opened their washing machine and started to pull out the clothes. Among them was their kitten Kimba. "We could hardly believe our eyes when she emerged, looking like a drowned rat," Brendon told Reuters.
They suspect that Kimba must have climbed into the front-loader machine when its door was open. She was probably looking for a nice warm place to curl up for a quick nap.
The catnap came to an abrupt end when Mr. Rogers shut the door and turned the machine on. Fortunately, it was a cold wash but it included a high level spin.
The wet kitten was rushed off to see a veterinarian. Kimba's eyes needed treatment because of the detergent. Shocked and suffering from hypothermia, she was otherwise well and continues to enjoy her cat life with the Rogers' family in Manly Vale, Sydney, Australia.
But the plucky little kitten will perhaps be more reluctant to choose a cosy-looking pile of clothes for her resting place in the near future.
