Dividing Up Israel Is Not Without Its Consequences

History tells us that dividing up the land of Israel is not without its consequences. In the Old Testament book of Zechariah there is a dire warning against mistreating the Jews. God says that Israel is the apple of His eye:
For thus says the LORD of hosts: "He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye. For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall become spoil for their servants. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me. (Zechariah 2: 8-9)
Russian Jews had to suffer many pogroms before World War I. The 1917 revolution and the subsequent era of Communism meant dire sufferings for Russia.
Adolf Hitler and the German Nazis went further than any other nation in their zeal to eliminate the Jews. Germany suffered severely from allied bombings and the country was split in two after WWII. For over 40 years, Germany remained divided.
While Great Britain played a major role in the renewal of Zionism, she later reneged on her promises to let Jews immigrate to Palestine and favored the Arabs instead. Although it was once touted that the sun never set on the British Empire, its breakup began after Britain let the Jews down.
However, as Britain was siding with the Arabs who vowed to drive the Jews into the Mediterranean Sea, Israel's iron lady Golda Meir managed to find a new ally for Israel the United States of America.
Since then, America has supported Israel for some sixty years.
Now, however, it seems that America is willing to forget the lessons of history and join in with the European Union in carving up the land promised to Abraham's descendants.

Hitler's "Father Land," Moses' "Promised Land," what difference? Elevate one people, subjugate another.Ok, but unfortunately the Israelites have been persecuted throughout history. Now the tiny nation is hemmed in by Arabs and other enemies who number in the hundreds of millions, some of which deny the holocaust, and are obviously building nuclear bombs and have vowed to destroy them.
